Much to my delight Marisa Idrissi & Chef Hamid, Tagine proprietors, realized two boastful Berber feasts and tiny tastings for one night that left me nostalgic for dune dinners and convo. Hamid hails from a small desert village and as a very young boy met Bowles himself! When I discovered this our connection was cemented ~ they had to join us ~ and I am so grateful they did. Narrated beautifully and informatively by Marisa truly pure mezzes, perfectly spiced tagines, authentically prepared couscous and divine pastries melted in our mouths alongside ceremonial mint tea, fig & anise digestif, superb Moroccan wine and native orange blossom water & pomegranate sangria.
